Dubai
Dubai is the largest and most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai. Located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai is a global city and the business hub of the Middle East. It is also a major global transport hub for passengers and cargo. Oil revenue helped accelerate the development of the city, which was already a major mercantile hub. Today, less than 5% of the emirate's revenue comes from oil.
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second most populous city of the United Arab Emirates (the most populous being Dubai). It is the largest of the UAE's seven emirates and also capital of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi city is situated on an island in the Persian Gulf off the central western coast, while the majority of the city and Emirate reside on the mainland connected to the rest of the country.
Sharjah
Sharjah is the third largest and third most populous city in the United Arab Emirates, forming part of the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area. It is located along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula. Sharjah is the capital of the emirate of the same name.
Ajman
TAjman is one of the seven emirates (states) of the United Arab Emirates. It has an area of a mere 260 square kilometres (100 sq mi), which makes it the smallest of the emirates in terms of area. It is named after the city of Ajman, which is its seat of government.
Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is also transliterated as Ras al Khaimah and Ras al-Khaimah. The city of Ras Al Khaimah, sometimes simply abbreviated to RAK City, is the capital of the emirate and home to most of the emirate's residents.
Fujairah
Fujairah is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. The only of the seven with a coastline solely on the Gulf of Oman and none on the Persian Gulf, its capital is Fujairah City.
Umm Al Quwain
Umm Al Quwain is the least populous of the seven constituent emirates in the United Arab Emirates, located in the north of the country. The closest body of water near it is the Persian Gulf. The emirate is ruled by Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla.
